About The Event

I have asked for a tour of "pre-Columbian" and "exploration age" art and artifacts from the regions of Mexico, Central, and South America.

Meet at the DMA by 10:45.  We will gather at the Flora Street entrance, located at the intersections of Flora and Harwood.  Be prepared to pay for parking.

No food or drinks are allowed in the museum.  If you have them with you, they will need to be inside a bag and not visible.  If even a water bottle is visible, they will generally make you check your stuff into their cloak room.  We usually bring a snack and eat it outside while waiting to enter.

Backpacks are not allowed.  Only bags that are worn on the front or on the side are acceptable.  If you have a backpack on your back, you will be asked to check the bag.

Moms, we may  be asked not to participate.  The chaperone ratio is 1 chaperone for every 15 students.  If the tour area is crowded, they might want all moms except one to leave the tour.  While I think this is ridiculous, I am very desirous of keeping a good relationship with the museum.  If this happens, please be willing to step out of the tour and roam around on your own.  (This has never actually happened yet, but I have been told that it's a possibility.)
